Maya - माया
My divine energy Maya, consisting of the three modes of nature, is very difficult to overcome. But those who surrender unto me cross over it easily.

My photographs play with abstraction and clarity. Close-ups of my body get interrupted by landscapes and portraits, switching between ambiguous representation and awe.
In the photographs of me there is no eye contact. I wanted to create a strong, universal connection that goes beyond matter and beyond personal interaction. The empathy between our bodies makes us realize that there is more than what we see.
The images give a feeling of purity and intimacy. Nature and body seem raw and untouched. They lead us back to the primeval and make us want to reconnect with the source. The wide and abstract compositions, soft lighting and textured close-ups help to create the urge to reconnect.
Maya is the Sanskrit word for "illusion". It is the powerful force, that creates the cosmic illusion, that the phenomenal world is real. All illusions dispel once we understand that the soul itself is the Ultimate Reality.

Meine Fotografien spielen mit Abstraktion und Klarheit. Nahaufnahmen meines Körpers werden durch Landschaften und Porträts unterbrochen und wechseln zwischen mehrdeutiger Darstellung und Ehrfurcht.
In den Selbstporträts gibt es keinen Blickkontakt. Ich wollte eine starke, universelle Verbindung schaffen, die über Materie und eine persönliche Interaktion hinausgeht. Die Empathie zwischen unseren Körpern lässt uns erkennen, dass es mehr gibt als das, was wir sehen.
Die Bilder vermitteln ein Gefühl von Reinheit und Intimität. Natur und Körper wirken roh und unberührt. Sie führen uns zurück in die Urzeit und wecken in uns den Wunsch, uns wieder mit dem Ursprung zu verbinden. Die breiten und abstrakten Kompositionen, die sanfte Beleuchtung und die strukturierten Nahaufnahmen tragen dazu bei, diesen Drang zu wecken.
Maya ist das Sanskrit-Wort für „Illusion/Täuschung“. Es ist die mächtige Kraft, die die kosmische Illusion erzeugt, dass die phänomenale Welt real ist. Alle Illusionen verschwinden, sobald wir verstehen, dass die Seele selbst die ultimative Realität ist.
